On March 4th I asked if we should be officially concerned about the Celtics. I ended that article saying they would be hard to beat in a best-of-seven series… they must’ve heard me say that because they went ahead and swept the Pacers in the first round. Albeit there are some people pointing out that they didn’t have their star Victor Oladipo, but I firmly believe the absence of one player shouldn’t alter an entire series, let alone prevent you from even winning a single game. That being said, their next test is Giannis Antetokounmpo and the first place Milwaukee Bucks.
It’s Terry Rozier vs. Eric Bledsoe round two. Break out those Scary Terry shirts that you thought you wouldn’t need anymore, because if everything goes the way it’s supposed to, this series should be heavy hitting, back-and-forth, and could go 7 games.
Expect pushing, expect shoving, expect ejections. The first round has already had more ejections than last year’s playoffs altogether. I don’t expect that to change.
If the Celtics can get past these Bucks that have proven themselves a force to be reckoned with, I think that’s a statement to the rest of the league that they may very well have a real shot at a banner.
