The Banner is unfurled! The Pats are in the building! The championship rings are fantas— aaaaaaand the celebration’s over. If you were wondering what a World Series hangover looks like… wonder no more. Our heads hurt, the room is spinning, and the last thing we want to do is open our eyes. Starting off the season 3-9 at the bottom of the AL East post championship win, believe it or not, isn’t unusual for the Red Sox. The 2014 Red Sox season was abysmal following their 2013 World Series pennant going 71-91. Who do we blame here? Alex Cora? The pitching coaches? The pitchers themselves? The offense? The league for starting the Sox’s season on a west coast trip? It’s all bad. Something’s definitely wrong. Maybe it’s all wrong, and Cora’s magic is one-and-done. So far, the only good news is that there are 150 games left in the season. Things change. Streaks happen. Like I said before, this wouldn’t be the first time the Red Sox have gone from first to worst. Worse comes to worse, Boston has another championship to look forward to following this season. It might just be a long year for Sox fans this year.
